What started out a perfect weather day changed as storm clouds slowly moved in, but not before Alejandra and Justin gave their vows in front of 50 happy family and friends.
Under one of Phoenix’s giant, old mesquite trees, dating back 125 years, the ceremony took place, officiated by Justin’s good friend, pastor Zack Schiffer.
He tied a very tight knot of wedding vows around both of them with beautiful words of encouragement, scripture, and Christian perspective.
The wedding location took place on a small island of green trees and landscape near downtown Phoenix, Arizona, at Valley Garden Center.
As soon as the ceremony was over, Justin’s aunt and uncle, Candace and Jason, both professional wedding photographers, ushered everyone out from underneath the tree and proceeded to shoot family portraits.

Many of the guests took their chairs to reception tables under other trees nearby while the photographs were being taken.
No sooner had the salads placed in front of the guests and the bride and groom made their entry and began to drizzle.
Everyone rushed indoors with tables and chairs in tow to sit down in front of a prime rib dinner prepared by the bride’s father, Luis.
The seating was a bit tight but very cozy and fun.
Wonderful toasts we’re given by the parents of the bride and groom as well as the best man, maid of honor, and a number of other family members.
Later in the evening, dancing and cutting the cake took place in a large room next to the dining room.
Justin’s mother, father-in-law, sisters, and brother had traveled up from Houston, Texas, to enjoy the wedding.

Alejandro’s father, Luis, who owns Biscuits Restaurant in Tempe, provided the fabulous dinner that night.
Justin’s aunt Ellen Jent made all the flowers. His grandmother, Monica, made the five wedding cakes that were eagerly consumed by the guests.
Towards the evening’s end, the weather cleared. The two wedding photographers took the bride and groom out for memorable evening photographs with specially prepared flash equipment.
One of the night’s highlights happened outdoors just before dinner, when Justin’s cousin Zeke blew the Jewish horn, Shofar, to introduce the bride and groom.
The DJ had set up unique lights that looked like two giant sparklers as Alejandra and Justin walked into all the guests just before the rain started.
Justin’s dad, Shaun, had provided firewood and picked up two colossal ice containers for the wedding, and rushed around all day and evening to get everything in place. He was a busy man that day.
